Savannah Sunrise

This image was created early on the morning of August 8 in 2013. It was dawn in the Savannah of the Masai Mara Animal Preserve in Kenya, Africa. The tree was the focus and I set up my camera in a location that would allow me to photograph the sun just peeking over the clouds above the horizon near the tree. The rest of the sky was lit by the stunning morning light and the pattern of the clouds. I hoped to accentuate the vastness of the open land and sky in Africa at that time and date.
